Beylikdüzü Municipality has launched “Support at Work” Project to motivate women to participate in labor force and to inform women who work actively in business life.
The project has been developed by Beylikdüzü Municipality in partnership with Bahçeşehir University, Beylikdüzü Organized Industrial Zone and İşkur Provincial Directorate. “Support at Work” Project is financed by İstanbul Development Agency within the framework of Grant Scheme for Promoting Women’s Employment for the year 2015.
The aims of the project are: employing women who live in Beylikdüzü and look for a job, informing women about its continuity, and raising the awareness in private sector on creation of women-friendly employment areas.
Support At Work Unit
With the establishment of Support at Work Unit for women employment, a center has been created for the women who want to apply for this project. In Support At Work Unit, women who want to apply get informed about the project, in addition, a record of their CVs is kept by career coaches, education coordinators and legal advisors.
Support at Work Matching Portal
Women who live in Beylikdüzü and look for a job came together with businesses that operate in Beylikdüzü and want to recruit new personnel, via the Support At Work Matching Portal. Women can create their own CVs at www.istedestek.org .
Guidebook for Women in Business Life
With the handbooks about rights and supports provided for women in business life, a reference guidebook was prepared, which includes basic information about special rights of women in business life, such as women’s rights in cases of motherhood and childbearing, and regulations on working hours.
Women-Friendly Business Booklet
Prepared for businesses, Women-Friendly Business Booklet explains what businesses should do to become women-friendly and how to manage the certification process. In this booklet, information on international certification systems, application requirements, and other requirements in this process are also shared.
By holding education seminars on gender awareness for women, women’s awareness on rights in business life was raised, thus they became more motivated to actively participate in business life.
Activities to be Made within the Scope of the Project
A meeting on women-friendly business was held in August for businesses operating in Beylikdüzü. In this meeting, participants were informed about policies and supports provided for women employment and gender awareness. By gathering the women who applied for the project and the businesses that need personnel with the matching meeting to be held, women will personally contact with representatives of the sectors they are interested in. Thus, the application process to get into their jobs will be started.
