Dear Members of the Committee on Culture of UCLG,
The UCLG Culture Summit is the main meeting point at global level for cities, local governments and other stakeholders that are committed to the effective implementation of policies and programmes on culture and sustainability. The second UCLG Culture Summit, entitled “Commitments and Actions for Culture in Sustainable Cities”, will be hosted by Jeju Special Self-Governing Province (Republic of Korea) from 10-13 May 2017. More than 160 cities and local governments, international experts, civil society, academics and key stakeholders in the field of cultural policies in sustainable cities will take the floor during this very important Summit. Around 500 participants are expected. The detailed programme is now available here in English, French and Spanish.
The Summit will host the 14th meeting of the UCLG Committee on Culture. The meeting will take place on Friday 12 May from 14:00 to 15:30 at the Jeju Art and Culture Center venue. You are invited to attend this important meeting.
– The meeting is open to the official members of the UCLG Committee on Culture.
– The report of the activities undertaken in 2016 as well as the programme of activities for 2017 will be discussed for approval in this meeting.
– These two draft documents, as well as the agenda of the meeting and the draft document "Culture in SDG: A Guide for Local Action", are now available.
– You are invited to download these documents from this dropbox folder, to analyse them all and to bring your own copies to the meeting.
